Data deletion
CaptionPop does not create user accounts, so there is no CaptionPop account to delete.
Data on CaptionPop servers
Uploaded video copies, derived audio, generated caption artifacts and server-rendered media are temporary. They are scheduled for automatic deletion after the processing/download window, with a target of approximately 24 hours. If an operation is actively finishing at the cutoff, cleanup may run as soon as that operation safely settles.
Data on your phone
You control local CaptionPop data through the app and Android. Replacing or deleting the current project, clearing CaptionPop's app storage, or uninstalling CaptionPop removes app-private working data according to Android's behavior.
Videos and SRT files that you explicitly save to shared device storage are separate copies. Delete those files using your gallery or file manager when you no longer want them.
Purchase and anti-abuse records
Limited purchase-entitlement, security, anti-abuse, accounting or legal records may need to be retained longer than temporary media. These records can be retained without keeping your source video.
Request deletion of active server data
To request deletion of data associated with an active CaptionPop processing job, email support@captionpop.app with the subject CaptionPop data deletion request and include the project/job identifier when available. Because CaptionPop has no account profile, an identifier is normally needed to locate a particular temporary job.
We will delete the temporary server data we can identify from the request, subject to an operation that is already actively finishing and to limited records that must be retained for security, anti-abuse, purchase-entitlement, accounting or legal purposes. Those retained records do not require us to keep your source video.
